MESH Confab is a biannual creative gathering aimed at bringing together the wide spectrum of creative thinkers and doers to meet, explore and share their creative ideas, services, products and projects. It offers opportunities for networking collaboration and discovery among individuals and organizations within the Creative and Cultural Industries (CCI) value chain. From 9 delegates and participants in it’s maiden event in 2012 to over 300 in the last and most recent event in November 2015, MESH Confab is fast becoming the largest and must attend bi-annual event for creatives to meet and share their work for purposes of business networking and market expansion.
The primary target group for MESH Confab include established and young up and coming artists, creative entrepreneurs and businesses in the CCI value chain. The secondary target group will include patrons of creative products and services as well as organization and individuals who are interested in the creative arts landscape in Ghana.
The regular programme outline for MESH confabs include major sessions such as Keynote presentations and panel discussions, Creative Portfolio presentations, Live Creative sessions and Expo fairs. MESH Confabs are planned and organized as a day’s event which run for 9 hours. Expo fair: The Expo fair is one major value addition feature to the MESH Confab. MESH Confab gives opportunity to participants to apply for stands to exhibit and market their wares to the MESH audience and participants. These expo fairs run parallel to the main programme and it provides a platform for the exhibition of outstanding products and services. Participants who have exhibited at these expo fairs have attested that it has been very beneficial in terms of giving them a chance to make sales during the event but even more importantly win new clients, potential business collaborators and partners.
Keynote presentation: The sessions for these events will include keynote presentations from renowned creative arts industry players from Ghana or abroad who share insights on interesting topics relating to starting and running a creative career. These keynote speakers are encouraged to draw from their own experiences so as to encourage and inspire young creative professionals. Participants are given the opportunity to ask questions or make contributions to the issues that may have been raised. 3 key-note speakers are given the opportunity to address the gathering and this session portends a lot of learning and inspirations to participants and audience
Portfolio Reviews: This session is where the opportunity is given to creative professionals, CCI value chain businesses and organizations to present their portfolios of work to a diverse audience. These audiences are usually made up of people from varied backgrounds and as such are able to give relevant insights and feedback to the presenters.
